SLINGING AND LIFTING (Course No GS-11)

 

 
Target Audience        :        Any staff or crew member involved with slinging and lifting.

. 

Location                     :        Either Training Centre at Musaffah or on Client's own vessel
Objectives                  :       To ensure that staff are competent in safe handling of  loads, with regard to their own others safety                               

Contents                     :   


            Ø             Calculate the load weight of normal and complex loads

Ø             Have knowledge of different hitches

Ø             Understand the centre of gravity of loads

Ø             Be aware of the lifting capacity and the effects of the load rating table

Ø             Know the common kinds of slings, the signs of wear and tear when to replace

Ø             Be aware of effects of temperature and chemicals

Ø             Understand the need for correct storage and protection of goods

Ø             Understand the correct lifting signals

Ø             Have an awareness of varying types of hardware in use.
 

Time                        :              One Day Course (5 to 6 Hours).
