PROFICIENCY IN  SURVIVAL CRAFT & RESCUE BOATS (Course No RL-06)

 

 
 Location                     :        Training Centre in Musaffah .
Objectives                  :       To ensure that students are fully conversant and competent to the standards of the STCW code in the basic knowledge of
                                            immediate action and precautions to safely abandon a vessel using equipment and technique to enhance their chances of
                                            survival


Contents                    
     Candidates shall be required to demonstrate competence through knowledge,
                                                          understanding and ability with regards to

Ø             Induction and safety

Ø             General

Ø             Abandon ship

Ø             Survival craft and rescue boats

Ø             Launching arrangements

Ø             Evacuation and recovery of survival craft and rescue boats

Ø             Actions to take when clear of the ship

Ø             Lifeboat engine and accessories

Ø             Rescue boat outboard engine

Ø             Handling survival craft and rescue boats in rough water

Ø             Action to take when aboard a survival craft

Ø            Methods of helicopter rescue

Ø            Hypothermia

Ø            Radio equipment

Ø            First aid

Ø            Drills influencing life rafts

Ø            Drills in launching and recovering rescue boats

Ø            Practical exercise and evaluation

 

Time                            :           2 Days Course (18 to 20 Hours) Valid for 5 Years
