MEDICAL FIRST AID ABOARD SHIP (Course No RL-05)

 

 
 Location                     :        Training Centre in Musaffah .
Objectives                  :       To ensure that delegates are competent to the standards of the STCW code in the provision immediate first aid in the event
                                                          of an accident or other medical emergency aboard ship by demonstrating knowledge and understanding of human body 
                                                          functioning, pharmacology, and use of available equipment


Contents                     :      Candidates shall be required to demonstrate competence through knowledge,
                                                          understanding and ability with regards to

Ø             Use of first aid kits

Ø             Body structure and function

Ø             Toxicological hazards on board

Ø             Casualty examination

Ø             Spinal injuries

Ø             Burns, scaids and effects of heat and cold

Ø             Fractures, dislocation and muscular injuries

Ø             Medical care of rescued persons

Ø             Radio medical advice

Ø             Pharmacology

Ø             Sterilization

Ø            Cardiac arrest, drawing and asphyxia
 

Time                            :           2 Days Course (18 to 20 Hours) Valid for 5 Years
