PERSONAL SURVIVAL TECHNIQUES (Course No RL-04)

 

 
Target Audience        :         This Training is intended as part of basic training for all seafarers. To meet the requirements set out in Table A-V1-1 pf the
                                                           STCW code and element 6.4 of unit M6 of the marine VQs
 Location                     :        Training Centre in Musaffah .
Objectives                  :       To ensure that delegates are competent to the standards of the STCW code in the basic knowledge of immediate action and
                                                          precautions to safely abandon a vessel, using equipment and techniques to enhance their chances of survival


Contents                     :      Candidates shall be required to demonstrate competence through knowledge,
                                                          understanding and ability with regards to

Ø             Type of emergency

Ø             Type of all life-saving appliances normally carried onboard ships

Ø             Personal protective equipment

Ø             Actions prior to abandonment

Ø             Actions to be taken when aboard survival craft

Ø             Use of survival carft Equipment

Ø             Main dangers to survivors

Ø             Location devices

Ø             Value of training and drills
 

Time                            :           1 Day Course (6 to 8 Hours) Valid for 5 Years
