FIRE PREVENTION & FIRE FIGHTING (Course No RL-03)

 

 
 Location                     :        Training Centre in Musaffah .
Objectives                  :       To Ensure that delegates are competent to the standards of the STCW code in the basic knowledge of  fire causes, prevention and
                                                          risk minimization, and of actions to be taken in the event of an fire or similar emergency aboard ship  


Contents                     :      Candidate shall be required to demonstrate knowledge, understanding and ability with regard to

Ø     Shipboard firefighting organization

Ø             Location of firefighting appliances / Equipment and escape routes

Ø             Fire Chemistry and ignition sources

Ø             Fire hazards, Flammable materials & Fire Spread

Ø             Need for vigilance and readiness for emergency response

Ø             Emergency actions on board ship

Ø             Fire & Smoke detection and alarm systems

Ø             Fire fighting equipment, PPE and RPE

Ø             Practical firefighting involving use of:

                  Portable extinguishers
      Hose & Branch Systems
      Various extingusihing materials (Water, Powder, Foam, CO2)

Ø             Practical use of self-contained breathing apparatus for fighting and rescue

Time                            :           3 Days Course (18 to 20 Hours) Valid for 5 Years
