OFF THE JOB SAFETY (Course No HSE-59)

 

 
Target Audience        :        All employees and their families.
Location                     :         Training Centre at Musaffah.
Objectives                  :        To provide all employees with understanding of the types and  nature hazards likely to be encountered
                                                           while not at work and the means of reducing the risks of such hazards. To encourage people to ‘think
                                                           safety’


                                          

Contents                     :        

Ø      Hazards of the home. Slips, trips and falls how they occur and how they can be avoided, working safely on ladders, steps and at heights. Keeping passageways clear and the provision of adequate lighting.

Ø      Electrical safety in the home, electrical shock, electric burns, explosion, arcing and fire and how they commonly occur, how to prevent them, measures to protect against electric shock, safe use of portable equipment, earthed equipment and double insulated equipment

Ø      Burns and scalds, common means whereby persons are burnt or scalded in the home, hot water systems, cooking, hot surfaces

Ø      Fire in the home, causes and nature of fires in the home, prevention’ detection and use of hand held extinguishers raising the alarm and self-rescue techniques hazards from barbecues

Ø      Substance safety; Types of hazardous substances found in the home. safe use and storage safe disposal

Ø      Minor injury prevention safe use of hand tools and implements moving heavy objects

Ø      Food and drink safety, haygience,storage safe disposal

Ø      Minor injury prevention, safe use of hand tools and implements. Moving heavy objects

Ø      Food and drink safety, hygiene, storage and disposal of food, effects of food poisoning treatment and medication

Ø      Safe use of transport, access and egress to vehicles, public transport and public buildings. Use of head and body protection while riding two-wheeled vehicle.

Ø      Awareness of street hazards, traffic fumes, other persons, repairs and defects in streets

Ø      Recreation, sporting injuries and how to avoid them. Hazards of swimming, running and other sports including heat stroke, drowning, torn and strained muscles and ligaments. Protective equipment for sports, when to report injuries and how to treat them before seeking medical assistance

Time                        :                One Day Course (5 to 6 Hours).
