LOCK OUT / TAG OUT (Course No HSE-49)

 

 
Target Audience        :        All field based drilling and production employees, all grades.
Location                     :        Training Centre at Musaffah.
Objectives                  :       To familiarise all attendees with the procedures which should be adopted to avoid injury to personnel
                                                          working on or near electrical or mechanical plant or equipment with a potential to be activated or
                                                          energized by others whilst works is in progress .


                                          

Contents                     :       

Ø      Review of the need for lock out / tag out devices, Examples of consequences where not used properly

Ø      Blinds, valve slide gates, circuit breakers disconnect switches, double block and bleed systems

Ø      Review of part-10 section 33 of procedures manual

o       Evaluation of job potential hazards

o       Actual and potential energy sources

o       Effectiveness of isolation

o       Procedures for removal of lock out / tag outs

o       Will require an optional test if ran as a certification course

Time                        :               One Day Course (6 to 7 Hours) Valid for 2 years.
