Target Audience        :        Radio officers, ships officers ,control room  and radio room  Operators ,coast station operators ,Coast guard personal .  
Location                     :         Either at Training Centre in Musaffah  premises.
Objectives                  :         To ensure that student are fully conversant and Competent to the standards of the STCW code
                                                            amendment 96 in  the knowledge of immediate action and precautions to use  the GMDSS radio equipment
                                                            for (distress/ urgency/ safety and routine) calls.

Ø             Efficiently operate the GMDSS equipments

Ø             Explain primary responsibility for radio communications during distress incidents

Ø             Solves the severe problems being experienced in the GMDSS as a result of the large number of false
    distress alert which occur now.

Ø             Provide techniques to avoid the internationals transmission of flase distress alerts.

Ø             Use procedures in order to mitigate the effects of false distress alerts following unintentional
    transmission
