ADVANCE H2S AND BREATHING APPARATUS(Course No BA-25)

 

 
Target Audience    :          All employees who are subject to specific work within  hazardous H2S areas, confine spaces etc. Also to be
                                                           used as an information course for senior engineers and technicians
Location                 :          Either at training centre in Musaffah or on Clients own  Premises.
Objectives              :          To instruct the attendees in all the necessary theoretical and practical procedures to ensures health & safety
                                                         where there is possible H2S risks in their work activities.  

Contents                 :            

Ø             H2S properties and initial response strategy

Ø             Occupational exposure limits, Toxicity Levels.

Ø             Respiratory protection equipment (SCBA & SABA) Operation and Maintenance

Ø             Methods of Detection

Ø             Rescue techniques and rescue breathing

Ø             Drilling well service/  Production services /  Plant operator personnel - sources of H2S, Control procedures,
   emergency strategies and measures and gas control strategies         

Ø            Sources of H2S, control procedures preventative measures and control strategies

Ø             Proper use of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA)

Ø             Proper use of supplied air breathing apparatus (SABA)

Ø             SCBA Fit testing

Ø             Escape set ( DF / PP / CF )

Ø             Use of various types of H2S monitoring equipment

Ø             Actual Incidents

Ø             Case Studies Exercise

Ø             Flaring operation & the hazards of SO2

Ø             Rescue techniques

Ø             Mouth-to-mouth resuscitation

Ø             CPR

Ø             Mechanical assists

Time                        :           Two Day Course (10 to 12 Hours) Valid for 2 Year.
